Zenit
Assignment
“How can I, through a digital product, ensure that during a stress peak, first-year students take a recovery moment that fits the context of the student so that the students can reduce their stress and thus give them positive energy?”
The solution: Zenit
Zenit is an application that helps you reducing stress during daily activities. The app measures your stresslevel and it will give you a notification when it’s time for a recovery moment.
Your stresslevel is measured by a bracelet that measures your HRV. It will you show multiply recovery moment that suits your location and the weather.

Research
I spent 10 weeks doing various studies to determine the biggest factors that caused students to burn out. I have done research through:
– Student interviews
– Expert interview
– Desk research
– Survey
Three major bottlenecks have emerged from this research and I am responding to this with my solution
Students continuously suffer from pressure to perform, everything has to be done at a high level. They have to present well at school, have a nice social life and then work next to this, which puts a lot of pressure on the student.
During my education I learned to focus on the entire design process; from understanding a design issue to designing a product. Eventually I started to specialize as a user experience designer
They experience a lot of guilt for example, when they choose for an evening of rest at home. They experience a feeling of guilt, because they are not whit their friends at those time they can not fully enjoy that rest.

Concept
Advantages of Zenit
1. Zenit indicates when it is necessary to take a recovery moment, this is measured via your HRV.
2. When you have to take a recovery moment, the smart bracelet with a vibration
3. The recovery times are based on your location, the weather and your heart rate.
4. Afterwards you can indicate which recovery moment works best so that the app automatically chooses recovery moments that suit you.

Testing
During my design process I tested several times. First to test my solution to see if it useful.I test this with students by giving them a stress meter and when the stress meter was too high, I instructing them to go for a walk as a recovery moment. And give them the stressmeter a again to show them that there stresslevel was going down. Students were excited.
From here I made several prototypes from paper prototype, low-fi and high-fi prototype. I have regularly tested with my target group, the client and fellow students. As a result, I was able to remove the errors and ambiguities in the field of flow, interaction and design from my prototype so that my product Zenit optimally matches the wishes, goals and requirements of my target group
